Summer is the time to get your resumé ready for the fall hiring season!

I’m always busy in late August, with clients getting ready for early September, when the hiring managers are all back from vacation, and the job postings spike.

But the best time to start is earlier. A good resumé takes time. My process typically takes 3 weeks.

Let’s get started a couple of weeks before you go on vacation. We’ll do the in-depth interview before you leave. The approval version will be waiting for you when you get back—with plenty of time left before Labor Day.

If you order our Resumé Consulting Package, and ask for the Executive Summer Special before payment, you’ll get 10% off.

That’s $50 to $65 off on the basic package. The 10% discount also applies to any extras you order.

Plus you’ll get a free one-page networking resume (normally a $75 option).

The special applies to:

• mid- to senior-level clients only (our pricing levels 4 and 5: typically corporate middle management and senior tech people)…

• whose projects start during June & July (schedule set and payment received)…

• and schedule a minimum of 3 weeks from initiation to delivery of the approval version of the resumé (because I want to go fishing on the weekends).

The special does not apply to the Resumé Makeover Package.

It is based on an individually developed in-depth interview (typically 2.5 to 3 hours for more senior clients). After that, there’s meticulous writing and information strategy, so your resume speaks up right away on the first screening, but also presents a full and distinctive picture to hiring managers looking deeper at later stages.

Optional add-ons include LinkedIn profiles ($90 to $112 with special), search-optimized, written and structured to make the most effective use of LinkedIn’s options and space limitations—delivered in a user-friendly form with instructions, so you can get the most out of LinkedIn.

Other options include my unique cover-letter package, as well as executive biographies, international CVs, and U.S. professional CVs.

Plus, I put in more time on quality control than cheap resumé services spend on the entire job.

Plus, your resumé will be technically compatible with electronic resumé-processing systems. (A surprising number of resumés aren’t—including “professionally written” ones.)

I also include a plain-text resumé optimized for pasting into on-line forms. And instructions on how to use each document, and how to revise your resumé in Word.

Don’t miss the Tips & FAQ page. It will change the way you think about resumés. It includes a section on “Killer Myths”—common myths about resumés that can wreck your job search even if you do everything else right.

The Resumé Glossary will tell you a lot about common resumé terminology and technology.
